Dr K’s dad with Englebert Humperdink
Chris’ dad Del Kacher with Englebert Humperdink at the Del Casher Jazz Group gig last week at the Luxe Hotel in West Los Angeles.

Dr. K's paternal DNA source, Del, whose stage name is Del Casher, hangs with Englebert Humberdink at a recent show of Del's at the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Blvd. at the 405 Freeway. In fact, VoSI members who live in the Los Angeles area can catch Del every Wednesday night at the Luxe Hotel lounge jamming with his impeccable jazz band. Del has a long resume in the music business, from inventing the Wah-Wah pedal to playing with the Three Sons, Frank Zappa, and the Lawrence Welk Show (an amazing video of Del playing some radical guitar for that era can be seen at http://www.delcasher.com/videos.html), among many other accomplishments that include writing music jingles and scores for television and movies.

Would be interested to know if Del knew Jules Rowles, a valve trombone player from Rodeo. Jules played with Zappa.
Invesnted the Wah-Wah pedal? That’s awesome! I’ll think of that next time I use my Crybaby.
