MLR - PMP 9/9/14
Major averages finished mixed on mixed volume, though higher volume was seen on the NASDAQ Composite which rose. The S&P 500 which finished lower on lower volume has been trading sideways as it flirts with all time highs. The Russell 2000 continues to lag the rest of the market, implying a risk-off environment. Indeed, quantitative easing seems to favor institutional quality larger cap stocks as there is safety in numbers and stocks that are more highly capitalized.
Social networking stock Twitter (TWTR) had a buyable gap up. Earnings have gone positive the last 3 quarters and sales are soaring, group rank 19.
