We wrote the piece on today's general market action about 10 minutes to the close when the tally was showing that volume on the NASDAQ Composite was going to exceed yesterday's volume. But yesterday's biggest volume increase came after the close which is highly unusual unless there was some sort of index rebalancing going on, so today's total volume on the NASDAQ Composite did not exceed yesterday's total volume (including post market close volume). On the other hand, we're currently showing that there was a volume increase of 2.8% on the S&P 500.
