Market Lab Report
Do you use any indicators beyond moving averages such as volume-price indicators (OBV or Accumulation / Distribution) and any oscillators such as RSI or Stochastics?
Understanding and being able to see patterns over time in price/volume action are critical, and this is a skill developed over time by watching and "viscerally" experiencing the market. Any indicator you choose to use, whether moving averages, RSI, MACD, etc. is not useful in and of itself, but if you pick one or two and use them over time, you will notice diffferent patterns and relationships between this indicators and a stock's price/volume action that may help you. But for beginners, I always suggest sticking with learning how to read price/volume action alone. I myself find that the more I dabble in other indicators, the more it screws me up! Just give me my 10, 20, 50, and 200 day moving averages, a price bar and a volume bar, and I'm fine!
