NVDA rose on volume after the Trump administration planned to repeal AI chip export restrictions put into place under former President Joe Biden. While the volume was not enough for a pocket pivot, the volume traded after the announcement at 3:40 pm ET was substantial for NVDA to qualify. NVDA, META, and MSFT have been the overall price leaders among the Magnificent Seven this year which includes early April's market mini-crash. Challenges to NVDA including the US's attempt to restrict sales of NVDA chips along with China's Deepseek open source model were not enough to dethrone NVDA's leading price performance.
