SSS - Some Thoughts on the Short Side for Friday, August 26, 2011

Many leading stocks have been beaten down severely since the market break off the peak in late July. The market is likely in a "chop zone" where the short side will likely be uneven and the odds of success diminish, and this may go on for a few weeks. Therefore, we don't think this is the time and place to be aggressive on the short side, particularly when the Market Direction Model is in a neutral signal. Sit back and monitor the rally as it develops into a shortable situation again, and relax.
